Bast was considered the Goddess of pleasures, which covered a lot of territory. Among many of the things that fell under her patronage were: generosity, music and dance, childbirth, protection against evil, frivolity and sex. And this is by no means a complete list of all she covered. Not only was she the Goddess of all cats, but of all animals in general. If this wasn't enough, she was also the Goddess of fire and of the moon and protecress of women and children.

Bast was one of the most popular deities in all of Egypt. Cats of course were the most sacred of all animals to the Egyptians, but the black cat was particularly sacred to Bast. Several temples were dedicated to her, and each was home to countless cats which were treated as literal incarnations of the Goddess.

Bast was also the sister of Sekhmet. Together the twin sisters formed the "Yin Yang" of Egyptian religion, Bast, depicted as a young woman with the head of a domestic cat, being the positive force, and Sekhmet, shown with the head of a lioness, being the destructive force. For those of you who love wine; the white wine of Lower Egypt was the Wine of Bast, while the blood-red wine of Upper Egypt was called the Wine of Sekhmet.

Draco smiled softly as he looked out the window. He loved to watch the snow fall silently down to the ground. "Fireplaces are the best" he thought to himself as he glanced over his shoulder at the burning logs causing a soft glow in the dark room. He looked back out the window"When Harry wakes up I want to go outside to walk in the snow" He breathed in the faint colongne of his lover and felt him press against his back.

"Mm-mm...Draco" groaned Harry as he kissed and nibbled at the side of Draco's neck, feeling him shiver against him and press back.

"Harry" sighed Draco as his eyes fluttered shut. He lifted up his arm and ran his fingers threw Harry's messed up hair. "Bed,Draco...now"

"Yes...now" as Draco pulled Harry up the stairs to their bedroom.

Another recipe :)

It seems I'm in a recipe sharing mood lately. This is another of my sons favorite recipe's ever. It's different than toll house and not as sweet and that's why it's my sisters favorite because she sometimes doesn't feel like eating such a sweet cookie. These are a great cookie :)

Soft Amish Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 C. Shortening

1 C. Sugar

2 lg Eggs

1/2 C. Milk

2 1/2 C.Flour

1 tsp Baking powder

3/4 tsp Baking Soda (place in milk)

1 12oz bag of chocolate chips


Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and milk w/soda. Mix together and add baking powder. Gradually add flour and stir well. Stir in chips. Place on greased cookie sheets about 1 t of dough. Bake at 400% until edge is slightly brown. It usually takes 8 minutes.


I guess I just feel like baking more when the cool weather hits. I enjoy turning on the oven more... :) I also drag out my Cappuccino maker.
